What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.....except herpes......

I am getting ready to head to Vegas for the New Years! I haven't been back since I moved September of 08 and so this is a big deal for me. I have been jonesing to see my friends and the lights and the traffic (can't believe I said that!). I am so worn down with work and school that all I want to do is chill, but it's Vegas, and I don't get to be there anymore, so I kind of want to go wild! What's a girl to do????? Should be fun times, I will post more when I can. Have a happy and safe New Year!

Boring

I am truly living the most boring life on the planet. I go to work, which has just changed a little, I go to school three nights a week, and then I come home and study. And on occassion, I hang out with my kid. She can't really be bothered with me though, because she is always watching Wizards of Waverly Place or Hannah Montana. So I am in need of some excitement, but have no idea on earth how or where to get it. I need a way to escape this hum drum life!

I Heart Wil Wheaton

I love that geek! I want to make a bumper sticker or a tshirt (hey, why not both) that says just that with his picture from the cover of Just a Geek on it.

My birthday is coming up.......it would be a great gift for Juggs!

Reading

I love to read. I love interesting stories, and I especially love stories about people's lives. The bigger the train wreck, the more I want to read about them! I read the Chelsea Handler book and I laughed so hard. I was very saddened to hear that my friend G didn't enjoy it as much. I read the Tori Spelling book (I was and still am a die hard 90210 fan), and it was okay, but not great, but not that bad either. I would loan it to a friend. I never have enough time to read anymore. I bought Pride and Prejuidice and Zombies to see if I can finally make it through Pride and Prejuidice (with a zombie twist, hell yeah). I have been ordering crap from Barnes and Nobles $5 and under section. Alot of it is chic lit, which I like alright, but prefer it to hard core romance books. I keep wanting to frequent my local used bookstores, but they are never open when I have the time to go. I have also been trying to read some of the classics, To Kill A Mockingbird (which I got for a quarter at the library!), Jane Eyre....you get the idea.
I also really love books that have been made into movies. I usually enjoy the book more than the movie, but love to see what inspired the movie. I am waiting to see My Sister's Keeper until I read the book. I also am interested in reading the Time Traveler's Wife.

True Blood

I haven't watched the series but it is getting a lot of hype. I hinted I was interested in checking out and got a huge response from people that love the show. Someone recommended I check out the books that the show was based on. I set to Ebay and obtained my copy! I have read all 8 books in a matter of days. Still not having watched the show and knowing they don't always follow the books, I went to the HBO website and read about it and checked out some of the video, and they did. They changed alot of it! Anna Paquin just looks wierd to me. Maybe it is her teeth, but she does have a sexy look to her, I won't deny. I am not sure if I am enamored of the lead guy, but I can see why people like him. My sister is supposed to let me borrow her Season 1 dvds so I can finally check it out, but I have to say, I enjoyed the books! Vampires and hot sex........kind of like that!

Exhausted

Constantly! I can't stand it anymore. I am so tired from working and going to school. Two more years.........can I really do this? I am in desperate need of a little getaway and I am torn between escaping it all or doing something with my child. She really has been the one to suffer with me going back to school. She doesn't get her mommy time like she used to. She is a total trooper though and very supportive. Maybe she does deserve a little get a way too. Looks like a trip to Sea World San Antonio for us!
Got our tickets to see Wicked in Austin. So excited! I have been dying to see this for a couple of years. I got the book for Christmas, but didn't get the chance to read it yet due to the fact that school started. My book is going on a Mediterranean cruise though, so at least it is getting out there and seeing the world while I am not using it. I am expecting it to return with some beautiful sunset pictures over the water, so that I can look at them and relax before diving into that book!

Pop art

I think I want to turn some of my photos into pop art like Warhol and that dude whose last name starts with and L. I can only find ways to turn them into canvas and I don't really want that.......the only thing I found to do it was Photo shop and I don't have that!
Went to Chuck E Cheese today cause the balloon races didn't work out, and I have to say that I kept the rage to a minimum. I loathe that place and I know kids love it so I try to tolerate it, but I just hate it. I like to make fun of the kids playing ski ball and push them out of the way to show them how to really play it! Terrible role model, I know!
